Anthony Joshua ‘has more tools’ than Tyson Fury to win their bout

Filip Hrgovic: I’m Filip Hrgovic, and I’m “Anthony Joshua is the larger puncher, throwing more combinations, being effective with the jab and quick on his feet, and being better at battling on the inside. Tyson Fury has an odd fighting technique, but that’s it.”

Anthony Joshua is a “more complete boxer,” according to Filip Hrgovic, who might get a chance at the world heavyweight title if he defeats Tyson Fury. Read about the upcoming Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury Live Streaming.

Joshua, the IBF, WBA, and WBO champion, and Fury, the WBC champion, are nearing an agreement on a fight to determine the division’s No. 1, with promoter Eddie Hearn declaring, “We’re all systems go, this fight is on, this fight is happening.”

Hrgovic, who is undefeated, is awaiting word on a final eliminator to determine the next mandatory challenger for the IBF title, since projected opponent Michael Hunter has failed to sign a contract.

Hrgovic said of Joshua versus Fury to Sky Sports: “It’ll be a big battle. As a fan, I can’t wait to see it. I’m hoping they can come to an agreement soon. Many people are writing Joshua off and giving Fury the edge based on their previous performances.

“However, Joshua, in my opinion, has more tools to defeat him. He is the bigger puncher, throws more combinations, has a solid jab and is quick on his feet, and is better at battling on the inside.

“Fury has an odd style, but that’s all he’s got.

Hrgovic of Croatia earned an Olympic bronze medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and has subsequently tallied up 10 knockouts in 12 professional triumphs.

Hunter’s reluctance to settle conditions for the most important bout of Hrgovic’s career has enraged co-promoter Kalle Sauerland.

“The contract deadline was this week,” Sauerland said to Sky Sports. “Hrgovic has agreed to join the team. We’ve also signed on behalf of Hrgovic. Both the promoter and the boxer must sign a contract. That’s all there is to it.

“Our paperwork has arrived. Perhaps he’s looking for a pen, or the scanner isn’t working properly. However, that deal has yet to be signed.

“He doesn’t appear to want to fight right now. I’m not sure why he’s put us through two months of talks and purse bids if he doesn’t want to fight.”

When Joshua and Fury have settled on the heavyweight division’s ruler, Hrgovic is motivated to get a guaranteed opportunity at the IBF crown.

“I’ll be IBF mandatory after this fight,” Hrgovic added. “Regardless of who wins, Joshua or Fury, I am looking forward to the fight.

“For me, it will be a major battle. They’re both household names, massive celebrities, and world-class boxers.”
